Fun Activities for Family Bonding at Home

Fun Activities for Family Bonding at Home

Having fun as a family is a great way to build a better relationship with your children; this helps build a strong identity as a family. You don’t have to go outdoors for fishing, camping, or bird watching. There are many simple ways to have fun at home. More frequent activities at home will lead to having more family traditions. Traditions that will assure that your bond as a family will never be broken.

Below are just a few fun activities for your family to enjoy:

Treasure Hunting

Children love finding hidden objects. Be very mindful in hiding the treasures. If this game will be played by children below 7, the yard would be the best place for treasure hunting since the kids won’t have to climb. For the kids to be more motivated, offer a reward for the winner.  Here is how to set up your very own treasure hunt.

International Dinner Night

Your dinners can be more fun when a theme is involved. Choose a country that you want to visit someday for your international dinner night. Each family member will tell interesting facts about that country. All of you will also dress up like citizens of that country. If you choose Mexico, then you can wear Mexican hats at the dining table. Some of the popular dishes that you can prepare are enchiladas, tacos, carne asada and ceviche. You can also listen to Mexican songs while you are dining.

Gardening

This is not just a fun activity, but also an educational activity for children. Most parents can attest that when they taught their children to plant, they also learned to eat veggies. While you are gardening as a family, make sure that you inform your children on the importance of plants and vegetables to the planet and health.

Playing Bowling Indoor

A better way of playing this game is by recycling water bottles of the same size. If you choose to play with water bottles, make sure to have at least 150 ml of water in each bottle. Close the bottle caps very tightly for them to be very secure. After you line up the water bottles at the living room or hall, make a starting line. A duct tape can be the marker of your starting line. You can use any medium sized indoor ball to begin the game. Just like the treasure hunting game, give out a trophy or a reward to the champion.

Arts and Crafts

Kids of all ages love crafts. This also boosts the creativity of your kids. Always purchase water based paints and other art materials. If you are worried because you don’t know how to draw, you can watch YouTube videos that teach different techniques on drawing. Your kids’ self expression will be enhanced when they become more artsy!

Don’t ignore fun family activities or you may find yourself in front of a family attorney.
